Are You Scared ?

I learned an important lesson this weekend. What is that lesson ? Well, if you choose to go to an amusement park, go in the late afternoon. You avoid the heat, the long lines, but you can’t avoid the reality of suburbia. I’ll leave what exactly that reality is up to you. After riding 7 roller coasters in a matter of 4 hours, from a short 45 minute drive, you realize once again why the Bay Area is a great place to live. The opportunity to experience mountains, beaches, wine country, amusement parks, and tricked-out civics, all within a few hour drive makes this area truly, hella tight.
Lykke Li – I’m Good. I’m Gone – Pop never sounded so fresh. I guess it needs to come from across the pond. Quirky songs from this swedish MC.
Milosh – Warm Waters – From his upcoming new release on !K7 Records, iii. another collection of moody electronic gems. Mixed and mastered by Josh Eustis of Telefon Tel Aviv fame.
Memphis Minnie & Kansas Joe McCoy – I Called You This Morning – There’s this great compilation called Last Kind Words (1926-1953) which brings together old blues recordings which this track was taken from.
A Tribe Called Quest – Can I Kick It? (Extended Boilerhouse Mix) – I put this track up because of Lykke Li’s cover which can be found on YouTube. Tribe never sounds old.
