Cold War Kids – We Used To Vacation (Blues, Rock) – soulful, bluesy and melody. an uneven album but this track and ‘hospital beds’ shows potential.
Matias Aguayo – Papel Original (Techno) – from the ‘a night at the tilehouse’ ep which contains the ketamine induced ‘lineas’ tracks which i guess means there’s a huge woozy delay on everything. here, you get another track from the ep and more evidence that aguayo is making some of the most interesting music in the 4/4 genre.
Josh Rouse – A Forest (Live @ XM) (Pop) – a cover of the cure classic from 2002. rouse’s first two releases were classics and his work with kurt wagner from lampchop on ‘chester’ is something that should be discovered by fans of the so-called alt-country posse.
